Another coffee from Colombia. These beans are also certified organic, which is always a plus!
For us, this is the epitome of what we call 'comfort' coffee. Don't expect funky flavours or huge complexity here - we're talking about medium/big body, dark chocolate notes, hints of redcurrant and silky caramel sweetness. This is easy-drinking, easy to brew and utterly delicious.
In espresso, you get gentle red fruit acidity, followed by the strong chocolatey flavours and lingering finish. Add milk and it's a perfectly pleasing chocolatey delight. Everyone needs some coffee like this in the cupboard, especially those with bean to cup machines - it's a total crowd pleaser.

Notes from the importer...
Planadas municipality is located in the Tolima department. Its weather conditions make it an ideal area to grow high-quality coffee. 95% of coffees are grown in low temperatures which produces a higher sugar concentration during the ripening process, resulting in a sweeter and more complex cup profile.
Most of the population are ex-combatants from armed groups. What is remarkable is that after the peace agreement was signed, they started to work with coffee with some associations. Both ASOPEP and ASCISP are a great example of such associations. ASOPEP works with 167 farmers and ASCISP is formed by 66 coffee families.
ASOPEP has supported and assisted their coffee farmers' community to work towards quality incentivizing them to use organic practices. As result, our producers have managed to certify their coffee as organic thanks to the ASOPEP 's support.
Happy to report a very satisfied customer and further purchase. Wonderfully smooth and hints of fruit. Thank you
