'Here is one for the traditionalists.'
Sometimes big, bold, and simple is just what we need, right? This coffee is a great example of that. It's not delicate, or particularly complex. In fact, if you enjoy more traditional espresso, or a strong cafetière brew, or if you're looking for an all-round crowd pleaser, then this is a great choice.
In the cup, it's all about those dark, heavy notes. There's a molasses/black treacle sweetness - but also a black pepper finish that gives this coffee a bit of a bite. The acidity is gentle and smooth, like raisins.
For me, this coffee lacks the complexity we tend to look for when making pourovers or the like, but that is also it's strength. This coffee is just perfect as espresso in milk, it's a match made in heaven - and destined to become a favourite in the 'comfort' hopper in our coffee shop.

Taste and flavour perception are complex and difficult to articulate. We love sharing our tasting notes with you, but please don't rely too heavily on our reports. Your experience is what matters most and it may be different. We've written about that whole issue here.
