'This coffee is a rare thing, a decaf that doesn't taste like decaf! - and it's maybe the first decaf we've had that I can see myself drinking regularly. Can you tell?'
This is really delicious decaf. Although decaf processing has come a long way in recent years, it's rare that we find coffee that has come through decaffeination unscathed. Perhaps it's because this coffee is specifically selected straight after harvesting for decaf, in another sign that producers are taking decaf more seriously.
In the cup, you'll find some delicious red apple acidity, smooth toffee sweetness and a milk chocolate finish. It reminds me of toffee apples. Whether you're drinking this as filter coffee or espresso, with or without milk, you'll be enjoying clean, sweet and well rounded coffee. Enjoy.

Taste and flavour perception are complex and difficult to articulate. We love sharing our tasting notes with you, but please don't rely too heavily on our reports. Your experience is what matters most and it may be different. We've written about that whole issue here.

Popayán is located in the department of Cauca at 1,700 m.a.s.l. This regions topography is perfect to grow exceptional coffee!
The so-called Meseta de Popayan is sheltered by the Andes mountain range which helps generate homogeneous climatic and altitudinal characteristics. The result is a balanced cup profile with floral and caramel notes.
Approximately 65 growers contribute to this program and the importer builds long-term relationships with them all. This program encourages farmers to focus on quality and based on quality assessment they are paid up to 20% premiums above the market price for their beans.
Currently, this is our daily decaf. Works particularly well in a flat white with either cow’s milk or oat milk.
Thanks a lot for leaving a review Danny, much apprecaited - great to hear you are enjoying the decaf!
You can grind this to espresso if you want, but I found the flavours in from these beans came out exceptionally well when coarsly ground and steeped in the cafetiere for at least 5 minutes. Well balanced chocolatey flavours.
Thanks a lot for leaving a reveiw Callum, we really appreciate it! Good to hear you're enjoying this coffee in a cafetiere too - a much underrated brewing method these days.
