‘Another fabulous coffee from our friends at Aguilera. This one is different to their usual offerings, and a rare ‘comfort’ offering. A stunning all-rounder.’
In the cup, you can expect to find really huge blackcurrant notes. We had team members being reminded of ‘dark fruits’ Strongbow cider and Ribena. Zac was even reminded of intense fruit notes, like you might find in a cough sweet.
There’s a good, heavy, chewy, syrupy body here too, which makes for a luxurious mouthfeel and an intense drinking experience.
Add milk, especially in something like a flat white and you might find some lovely, subtle floral notes too.
However you brew this coffee, the brown sugar sweetness rounds everything off nicely and makes for a deliciously moreish coffee.

Taste and flavour perception are complex and difficult to articulate. We love sharing our tasting notes with you, but please don't rely too heavily on our reports. Your experience is what matters most and it may be different. We've written about that whole issue here.

This lot is produced by a group of farms in Los Robles de Naranjo, Alajuela, at 1500 metres above sea level under the oversight of Hermanos Aguilera.
Maybe the name gives it away, but this is another really excellent lot from Aguilera Coffee Traders.
It is essentially a directly traded coffee, which we have bought from Dylan Aguilera, Costa Rican cup tasting champion and member of the Aguilera family.
